Way overpriced! A review of Copper Whale Inn
Did we really pay $200 a night to stay here in August 2004? We arrived very late and went to our tiny room next to the kitchen. The first thing that hit me was that the carpet in the room was filthy, covered with spots and desperately in need of a good shampooing. A rack for our clothes, a small windowless bath, constant noise from the road, short on charm. If we were B&B-ing in England for $50 a night, it would have been a good deal. But for $200! We stayed for two nights. And didn't even get fresh towels the 2nd day.
The location is great. Right near the bike path along the coast and you can rent a bike out front. It's also good for just wandering around dwntn Anchorage. Breakfast was good and the people were friendly and very helpful. I'd recommend it if the price were right and your expectations were set accordingly.
