Watch out - Very expensive phone charges A review of Boutique Hotel Jalta
Stayed here from 16th to 19th August. Got a good rate direct from the hotel. Room on 5th floor overlooking the square - rather small for 2, but perfectly adequate. Cleaning staff were very good.
Breakfast was adequate, but table availability & cleaning were haphazard - they do not have enough hard working staff for such a busy period. I booked their airport pick up/drop off service, which was expensive at 750crowns each way. I was very sorry that I did so, as neither driver spoke much English and thought it OK to speed and answer their mobile phones whilst doing so.
However, my major complaint is about their extortionate phone charges. I was charged 2895crowns, approximately £72/100euros fror a total of 16 minutes and 46 seconds of evening calls. 13 minutes 56 seconds of calls to my landline in England and the remainder to landlines in Prague. They even charged me 75 crowns for an abortive call of 12 seconds - the number rang but I received no answer. I have stayed in expensive hotels in London and abroad, but have never experienced thievery like this before. I certainly will not be staying there again and would advise others against using the airport service or using the phone there.
