Watch for bait and switch A review of The Victorian Condo-Hotel Resort & Conference Center
I read the reviews on these boards before I went. Boy, am I glad I did. When we got to the facility, they tried to switch our two bedroom/two bath to a one bedroom/one bath. For five people, this was total unreasonable. Their excuse was they said they didn't book the two bedrooms over the internet. Well, I had a printout showing that indeed I had a two bedroom/two bath deluxe reserved with a CREDIT CARD. I had also called the reservation company directly. They, in turn, called the property to make sure we had a full ocean view. If I hadn't taken these steps to secure my reservation, I would have been screwed by the facility. As it was, it took over half an hour to complete registering and then things only kicked in gear when I called the reservation company on my cell phone and let my three young sons run amuck in their lobby. An owner was also in the lobby by this time and helped push it along. However once in the suite, things were nice. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone with young children. There were too many safety hazards like an extremely hot stove shield. All my children are over the age of 5, so this was not as much of a concern. The rooms were roomy but old. With kids, that can be an advantage. On one windy night, we had to shove a towel in the ocean side door to stop it from vibrating. Many things were out-of-service (we went during christmas which is off-season) because they were under repari. However, the view and location were fantastic. This place has a lot of potential to be a great family place. The current management company needs to work on their customer service. Maybe it's better during high season, but based on the other postings and mine, I doubt it. Good value, good price, lousy service.
