Walked on our wedding night A review of The Westin Cincinnati
My husband and I made reservations for our wedding night at the Westin downtown Cincinnati. The room was guaranteed with a credit card and we told them of our planned late arrival time ( about Midnight) due to an evening wedding and subsequent reception. When we arrived, still in wedding attire (it was after midnight at that point) the front desk clerk ducks behind an open door and the next thing we hear is LAUGHING!!! She then comes back out, the night manager (we assume) quickly bolts out through the door and leaves the front desk, and the clerk, without talking to us starts calling other hotels, asking for an available room. After my husband asked politely, then more sternly as he kept getting ignored, what the problem was, we were finally told that our room was given away, because we had a local address and there was a red's game in town. "and if we would quit interrupting her, as she was trying to find us a room." The best offer she could make us was a room at a super 8 in northern cincinnati, over 30 minutes away.
Needless to say, we left and fortunately had an apartment to go to. The management did send a letter of apology, but only offered one night for another occasion as exchange. Do not trust your stay in Cincinnati on the Westin! We really do have a wonderful city, but you won't find it there!!
