Very Nice A review of The Fairmont Dallas
Why are there only 2 negative reviews of the Dallas Fairmont here? It's such a large hotel, many people must stay there, all the time - - I did, and it was great.
I travel a lot for business, and this is the first time I've ever taken the trouble to write a review, but I think the Fairmont needs a good review on this site. The hotel was a very nice, 4-star, business hotel. The location was perfect--very easy walking distance to the Dallas Museum of Art, and, as the weather was warm, walking distance to Downtown, the West End, the 6th-Floor (Kennedy Assassination) Museum, and other sites.
The room was what you'd expect from a 4-star business hotel. Nothing terribly creative, but highly comfortable, as clean-as-can-be, very nice. The bed had an extremely comfortable mattress, and the whole room was pleasant, clean, and modern. The bathroom was elegantly tiled, and well stocked with clean, soft towels. Mini-bar, Cable, all the expected amenities.
Service was better than average. Room service was consistently delivered within 20 minutes of ordering (I've had to wait much longer in other hotels.). Requests for extra hangers and laundry pick-up (I was there 12 days), were responded to courteously and quickly.
A co-worker of mine was feeling ill one night. She called down for some soup, and chicken-soup was delivered to her FREE OF CHARGE.
All-in-all, a seamless stay at a nice, well located hotel. The fact that I (as a Federal Gov't worker, and keeper of this project's budget) received all of this at 88$/night added to my pleasure.
If you're looking for a chic boutique hotel, this isn't your place, but if you're used to a more traditional, but comfortable, clean, modern business hotel with a good selection of amenities, and a lavish restaurant and lobby, choose the Fairmont.
