Very Nice new hotel A review of Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach

We booked a stay here at the Residence because of the location. We wanted to be closer to Universal but when we researched the hotels we found the prices to be nuts for what you got and the rooms were often used hard. So we decided to look about 45 min east of the Orlando parks to find a nice place and we'd have access to the beach too. This hotel is new. it just opened in april or may of 2006. It is located very close to Port Caneveral. So if you are a cruiser leaving from that port this hotel is an excellent location for you. Several lines use this as a port. You can walk to food from here and the beach too. There is a nice park not far away where you can view Manatees. There is also a mini golf course and go karts within a block or so. There is a grocery store down the street. You'd need a car. The hotel though has a little store in it and there is a mini mart right next door. If you need heavy groceries you can drop a list off at the front desk and they will do the shopping for you and put it in your room and bill the charges to your room. That is an added bonus if you are there on business.

The hotel is very bright and clean. The rooms were very large. 2 tvs (if you care about tv). The rooms were brightly decorated but very tasteful. We had a king bed and a pull out queen sofa bed in our room along with a full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. There was a door to close out our kids which was nice after spending a week in a small cabin on a cruise ship. We had a nice view of the large pool and hot tub area. (towels provided). There was wired internet access in the room.

A hot breakfast was provided. you could make your own waffle. there were eggs and sausage. coffee, juice. All neatly presented. If you are here during the week they have heavy appetizers for dinner. We where there on the weekend and they still had the breakfast going but not the appetizers. We were very happy that the space shuttle was going to be launched and we would have an excellent view. Too bad it was scrubbed for the time we were there. The folks at the hotel told us we'd be able to see and feel the launch from there. I guess we are going to have to go back! From this hotel we made it back to PA in 17 hours. I guess it is important to mention that they have free parking at this hotel as many charge a fee now a days.
