Very Nice Hotel.. A review of Houston Marriott Westchase
Stayed at this Marriott over the 4th of July weekend. Staff was very nice and pleasant from the moment we checked in. Unfortunately they weren't very helpful when it came to directions and things happening around Houston (I believe another reviewer had the same complaint). I asked where one would go to see the fireworks and no one knew. I finally found someone at the hotel willing to look at the newspaper to tell me where and what time the fireworks were. I live in NYC and I can tell anyone who asks where our fireworks are and what time they start. I didn't think I was asking an unusual question. We pretty much got lost every time they gave us directions. Thank god I pre-printed maps from google prior to my trip!
The rooms were very nice even though the bed was a bit to firm for my taste. It was very quiet except our last night when someone was lost (or maybe drunk) and tried to come into our room and was annoyed when his key didn't work in our door. When I got up to see what the problem was, he realized he was at the wrong room. The pool was nice, not as great as I expected.
All in all, it was a very nice hotel. My boyfriend was impressed especially since it was only $79 a night. The breakfast was good for the price. Can't speak for lunch or dinner since we didn't eat there.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want something out of the way and for a good price. Hotels in downtown Houston were well into the $150 plus area. I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever in the Houston area.
