Very nice hotel A review of Renaissance Nashville Hotel

This was a good stopping point between Dallas and Cleveland, and travelling with teenage daughters, we were glad to find a hotel that was easy to find and offered excellent room service to tired travellers. Arriving at approximately 6 p.m., the valet parking in front of the hotel can be confusing to say the least...my advice would be to head for the private structure directly across the street ($5 every time you exit [or $5/for 24 hours--we paid $3], compared to $18 valet--although that is a daily rate). If you choose the structure, park on the 4th floor, cross the sky bridge that connects with the 3rd floor of the hotel, take the elevator to the lobby and check in...then you can head back for your luggage after you've checked out your room. Otherwise, if you valet park, you'll need to tip the valet for unloading you, and oddly enough (the valet service is a private company), they take the luggage just inside the lobby and hand it over to the bell boys, who you'll need to tip again...so I recommend the structure.... In any case, as it happened, the first room we were put into had a non functioning toilet (we never take luggage up when we check in...we just head straight up, check the room, run the water, flush the toilet, etc.) -- found out about the toilet immediately, called down and asked for another room (they offered to send an engineer up but we declined). The staff accomodated our request and moved us to another room immediately. Everything functioned fine in the new room. We ordered room service; it was delivered promptly and the quality was suprisingly good. Probably the fastest and best room service we've ever experienced. Likewise for the room service the following morning. Very nice hotel. And a really great elevator...I'd read a review on trip advisor that criticized it...but, being from LA I guess, we really appreciate an elevator that gets you where you want to go and doesn't waste time (ok it drops like a bomb...but its not a problem)...And despite the fact that our stay was on a Friday night, the hotel was filled with nice quality people and very quiet. We recommend.
