Very nice hotel in Telluride A review of The Hotel Telluride
We stayed here in January. My wife and I are not skiers, so we picked it for its luxurious accomodations. We were not disappointed. We stayed in a suite with a view of the slopes.
If you are a skier, you may be turned off by the hotel's location. It is not ski-in, ski-out whatsoever. It is located 5 blocks from the nearest lift, so walking with ski boots on could be cumbersome. But don't worry...the hotel has a complimentary shuttle van that will take guests to any Telluride address (restaurants, shops, lifts, gondola) and pick you up. Quick service with a phone call.
We stayed in Room 324...it has a "fireplace" which is ignited with the flip of a switch and is behind glass. It has two totally separate rooms. One can see the whole city side of the mountain from the room.
If you don't want a suite, but would like a view of the slopes, I would recommend the following room numbers: 303, 304, 307, 308, 312, 313, 314.
The staff was very friendly. There are cookies available at the desk in the afternoon; there is free apres-ski food available in the bar area from 4-6.
One HAVE to do activity in Telluride: take the complimentary gondola up to the St. Sophia station and have drinks in the bar overlooking Telluride from 2000 feet above. Very nice.
Hope this helps.
