Very good dinner, no screaming kids A review of Lake Quinault Lodge
I did not stay at the Lodge, but my husband and I ate in their dining room three times in August 2004 (2 breakfasts, 1 dinner). Unlike the reviewer from Thanksgiving 2003, we experienced no wait for a table and no screaming children; in fact, no children at all. (This was midweek, the third week of August -- I don't know if schools were back in session yet.) Service was friendly and professional and prices were in line with the quality of the experience. Dinner was excellent. My husband's scallops were the best he'd ever had, and he's eaten scallops all over the world for the past twenty years. My lobster ravioli was also quite good. I hear that the windows act as a green house so you might want to avoid the sunset hour. As for the breakfast, it was fine; but I prefer the Quinault Mercantile across the street -- no view, but the food's less fancy, less expensive, and just as tasty.
