Very disappointed! A review of Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica

I stayed in this hotel 2 summers ago and we booked our holiday through Virgin Holidays and it being a Sheraton hotel you would expect a high standard. Certainly the picture of the room in the brochure is not at all like the room we got. I have a starwood guest card and was told we would get an upgraded room. The room we got was very dark, the furnishings grubby, the bathroom needed renovated and the tv did not have on demand movies as stated in the brochure. We complained and were told they did not have another room available at that time that we would have to wait. We went out and came back later on and were offered another room - this was not much better and was small with not much room for the cot we required. Eventually the next day after complaining to the virgin rep we were given another room with a view which I was allowed to look at first. Only thing - pity about some building work being carried out nearby. Location is good but hotel is very disappointing and not up to usual Sheraton standard for the price.
