Very disappointed A review of Clarion Inn Historic Strasburg Inn

Traveling to the Lancaster area with three of my office colleagues for a wedding, we were told that we "just had" to stay at the Netherlands Inn and Spa, so we were all looking forward to a weekend of relaxation and pampering in an old historic hotel. Because we wanted our visit to be special, we booked the deluxe suite. How disappointed we were when we opened the door to our room and found a dirty toilet, unvacuumed floors, dirty bathroom throw run, a spider nest on an inside door, beds sloppily made with faded spreads...absolutely nothing to recommend the room. The water pressure was erratic; the TVs were definitely historic. The morning we were to depart one of our party went to the hot tub, only to discover that it was locked until 10AM. Since checkout was at 11, guests are obviously not encouraged to enjoy that amenity on the morning of departure. When we tried to contact the front desk, we could get no answer, so finally we walked to the lobby to see if we could get any assistance. Eventually someone came to clean the toilet and replace the dirty run, but that was all.

The restaurant is very nice, and the wait staff helpful and friendly, but that was the only bright spot in the weekend.

All this for $180 per night...hard to believe or accept.
