Very comfortable rooms and amenities A review of Sheraton Suites Houston Near The Galleria
As the previous reviewer wrote, the area around Galleria is a mess. The hotel is right off the service road of the highway and the highway is a mess. You are literally a block and half from the Galleria and from our room facing West, we saw the Galleria and the assorted strip malls around Galleria. Just up the highway a bit is the Uptown Shopping Centre and it was full of shops and had one great eatery. We stayed there over a three day weekend in April and were not disappointed with the level of service and with the quality of the rooms. There is unlimited internet access for guests down by the lobby and Wi-Fi in room for those connected. The rooms were large with a separate area for a couch and desk. Bed was comfortable and decor was nicely furnished, but due to its weird layout, the closet is actually in the bathroom sink area. We stayed in the SPG floor, 7th floor. There are tons of hotels, right next door and around the area and competition does breed higher quality service. The only complaint is that apparently the hotel is a stop for British tour groups catering to the elderly and sometime the tour buses block off the small entrance drive completely, and due to the construction on the highway, there can be some irksome traffic congestion. In addition, at $109 per night, it is not exactly a bargain. Look for buy 2 nights and get 1 free promotion to make this a more attractive value property.
