Unpleasant stay. A review of SpringHill Suites Asheville

Unfortunately you have to be a member of Marriots rewards program to have room preferences guaranteed. I called directly to the hotel to make my reservations. I reserved a non-smoking room. I called the hotel 2 hours before arrival to make sure I had a non-smoking room. They said I did. Upon arrival I was informed that they only had smoking rooms left.

The manager said that I had to be a member of the rewards program to, have my preferences guaranteed. They did not mention this fact in my previous calls to the hotel.I was forced to stay anyway due to all other decnt hotels being full. I was in the lobby later and overheard the same thing happening to another lady. She stormed out. They reduced my bill by a whole 5 dollars. Probably not a bad place to stay if you are a member of the rewards program. Otherwise you are a lower class guest.
