Unique Hotel but Beware of Bathroom!! A review of Hotel Indigo Atlanta
The decor at this hotel was very refreshing...it seemed more appropriate for a beach destination, but was still a nice change to the typical city hotel decor. The lobby and guestrooms looked like they would be featured on the Home & Garden Network...dark blue and lime green hues and cheery white furniture. A relaxing CD was playing in our room when we checked in, creating a spa-like atmosphere. My friend said that the fitness center was well-equipped and a pleasant experience.
The Midtown location is ideal...across from the Fox Theater and within walking distance of Piedmont Park and many restaurants and bars.
TWO PROBLEMS: 1) Parking: We were told that the hotel had ample parking. Upon arrival, we found out that they only have 55 spaces and all were already occupied. We had to park in a garage behind the hotel which was very full due to an event at the Fox. The cost was $18/night.
2) Bathroom: I have NEVER in my life seen a bathroom this small...even in Europe! You had to be careful that you didn't hit your face on the sink as you got up from the toilet! The shower had no ledge, thereby causing the 2x4 floor to flood every time used it. I swear that if I was a few pounds heavier (and I am a small person), I would not have been able to function in there! I may have gotten a few bruised elbows from the whole experience.
BUT...I would be willing to deal with these issues again (for a short stay only...one or two nights) because I loved the hotel and the location so much!
