We stayed at the Homewood Suites August 6-7 and again on 11-13, and I have to say that I was pleased with the unexpected class of the hotel. Our suite was at the 5th floor, overlooking the pool, and beyond it, I believe a man-made lake. The hotel was in prime location, and it seems that whoever built it cut out a space in the midst of dense trees. So when we look out our window, we feel like we're snuggled against a forest.

The suite had two areas, the living area and the main bedroom. The living area had a sofa covered in classic striped of green, red and yellow-gold. In front of the sofa is a remote-controlled TV. The windows reach up to the ceilings framing a glorious view. There is a refrigerator with an ice-maker, adjacent to the sink. The cupboards hide pots, pans, china, and glassware. There is a microwave as well as a two-burner range, plus a bonus dishwasher! They even provide you with dishcloth and soap. In the same area, there is a large built-in table equipped with computer connections. The bedroom is big enough to accomodate a king-size bed, two end tables and a big tv. The mattress was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom has a tub-shower combination, with a spacious sink area.

The entire hotel was decorated in classic/traditional elegance, and not tacky at all.Breakfast is free and offered good and ample choices--not spectacular but quite filling.

But I think the most unexpected of this place is the service.

The first time we checked in on the 6th, it was past midnight because of airline delay, and when we told the front desk clerk our troubles, she asked us if we wanted to have a much later check-out than usual (regular check-out is 12 pm)-thinking that we needed extra hours of sleep. She was very helpful and eager to please. When we came the following weekend, we were greeted by very courteous and friendly desk clerks who made us feel at ease.

Overall, this hotel is an unexpected surprise. I highly recommend it, especially to families who would like to save expense on eating out. I travel around the world and stay in different hotels, and this one can compete with the high-end hotels out there.
