Ugh - the reviews are accurate A review of The Westin Columbus

Arrived at midnight (late flight), no valet to greet me, checked in, friendly front desk, nice lobby (but the fake flowers have got to go). I have gold status with Starwood, no room upgrade (sold out)...

Arrived in dark, damp, smelly little room, the air conditioner was dismantled in the room. I went downstairs...

Got another room, larger, but still smelly. I turned on the AC, a wheezing loud buzz eminated from the machine. I sat at the desk to call the front, turned on the desk lamp and noticed dark spots of blood on the sheets. Yes, blood on the sheets and pillowcases, just several spots - perhaps the maid cut herself while making the bed. I went downstairs...

They made me a dismal turkey sandwich as I sat in the bar waiting for a new room - it was after midnight.

They told me they would comp my room that night.

Third room (they were sold out?) - damp, dark, smelly, the bed is not the usual heavenly's dressed up like one, but the underlying matress is not what I'm accustomed to. Towels were okay, Starbucks coffee in room is nice...but no cream.

Bar closed earler than advertised, front desk told me they closed at 12:30, not at one. I was told it closed at one...the sign says it closes at one.

Breakfast buffet - cold and greasy.

Lunch - Cold and greasy.
