Typical Embassy Suites A review of Embassy Suites Tampa - Downtown Convention Center
I would actually give this hotel a rating of 3.5. It is basically a typical Embassy Suites, with spacious rooms and good facilities. The pool is small, and as a result fairly crowded. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful.
Breakfast was as good as it normally is. We were there during a college football weekend, and the hotel was full of fans. It was busy at breakfast, but managable, and the omelets were good.
The location is good for many things, and we attended a hockey game right next door. In general, though, the area lacked much of a community feel, and there is too much concrete. We probably should have gone to Ybor City, or somewhere a little more lively.
The main problem has already been identified by other reviewers. The hotel has mandatory valet parking, and is totally overwhelmed around check out time. This is an annoyance which really should be rectified.
