T'Sandt More Than Decent A review of Hotel 't Sandt
We were extremely concerned about the declining Dollar and the rising Euro as we searched for a hotel in Antwerp. Fortunately, we chose the utterly charming t'Sandt.
The t'Sandt is located in the best part of Antwerp if you are a tourist. Everything is within walking distance. The room was huge and was filled with charming antiques and artifacts that reminded us constantly that we were in Europe. The modern facilities had all been refurbished and the television, shower, toilet all worked well and kept us comfortably enscounced in the 21st century. The windows were large and let in tons of light so necessary in northern Europe during the winter. The linens, towels, etc were of the finest materials allowing us to feel rather cozy during Antwerp's cold, wet and windy moments. The t'Sandt aptly illustrates that a hotel can combine old world charm with modern comfort. Touche! Having only 12 rooms allows for a certain intimacy that adds perceptable charm. The staff couldn't be more helpful and pointed us in the direction of some great restaurants and watering holes including one of the best dining establishments we have ever experienced, Gin Fish. The breakfasts were great and allowed us to skip lunch. The t'Sandt is a wonderful European hotel experience.
