Tough place for regular customers A review of Harrah's Reno
Harrah's isn't what it used to be. They used to encourage regular customers with nice benefits and "comps' but it is very difficult to deal with anymore. I recently reserved a room for $129 and they charged me that very same day (to my credit card). In recent history, they would never do that, in fact, our comps alweays paid for our room and meals (usually). What they say now is that they will "credit back' to us any comps. I suppose that is fine, but what they're asking, really, is for me to loan them $129 for a month or so at no interest. Their dealers and pit bosses are the greatest...I love 'em all. But wowie, management is making it unpleasant to go there. They even tried to charge us for a movie once that we never even turned on (we go there to gamble, not watch movies). I even tried to get a buffet dinner comped after three days of play and was told I didn't have enough comps.
Yikes! We've been regulars there for eons. It's little stuff like that that drives customers away. We decided to spend the rest of our week at another casino, and you know what, it was like Harrah's used to be: Generous comps and a "what can we do for you Mr. so and so". One final thing; Their "Total Rewards" point program is so confusing (you never actually get anything) that i think they have a magician in charge of it. After a while, everything just disappears! You never get a statement telling you what you have accumulated. But like I said-the best dealers in Reno, no question. Now if management could just somehow learn from them.
