Top Grades for Farmer's Guest House! A review of Farmers' Guest House
From the moment we stepped through the magnificent front door, we were welcomed with open arms to this beautiful establishment.
Jess showed us around the common areas while pointing out the numerous amenities. Hundreds of DVD's and CD's we could help ourselves to, a cookie jar to raid whenever we wished, complimentary bottled water and soda, along with ice and buckets. A big-screen television in the living area, along with an invitation to wine and cheese nightly at 6. Games, puzzles, and pictures galore made us feel at home right away.
We were then shown the upstairs library, where Jess told us coffee was brewing by 7 every morning. Again, pictures, games, and books were everywhere to enjoy.
We chose a standard room, which was immaculately clean, as was the entire inn. We were invited to peek into other rooms that were as yet uninhabited, and found the suites to be spectacular. (Next time!)
Breakfast was a treat, with tasty waffles, fruit, cereals, breads, egg dishes, juices, and bottomless cups of coffee! Kathie and Jess were entertaining, while serving our breakfast, and happy to sit and answer any questions we had about the inn or Galena in general.
Charles, a staff-member, was most enlightening with his horticultural knowledge while giving us a tour of the Lindmar gardens across the highway. He was also very entertaining with his stories, and though we were all strangers, we all left feeling like friends.
I can't recommend any B&B in Galena higher than the Farmer's Guest House. We've stayed in many B&B's in this little town and this was definitely a highlight to remember. The owners enjoy their work and do everything in their ability to make your stay in Galena a pleasurable experience. A+++++
