Too much work to be done at this hotel A review of Esturion Hotel & Lodge
A really nice hotel from the outside. Excellent location and magnificent views, but the problems start with the front desk staff.
I booked 2 months before my stay. I even spoke to the reservations manager by phone twice asking for a nice view room. They have 3 room categories; I went for the middle one because it is supposed to be a totally remodelled room. When we arrived we got a room in a bottom floor (no view at all) and with a highly depresive smell. The hallway carpet was dirty and moisty, you could even see the water drops falling from the ceiling. The room was clean but the humidity smell was untolerable. I upgraded and got the room I was expecting for 35 USD more per night (otherwise I would have changed hotel). My dissapointment is since I had personally talked to the manager, why didn´t he recomended me from the beginning to book the higher quality guestroom? He knew how the bottom storey look and smell like; he knew what I was asking for.
The service at the bar could take ages sometimes...the waiters and polite and nice, but way too slow. You may have eggs with your breakfast, the problem is that there is no info sign leting you know this. Once I found that out, it took up to 15 min for them to make a couple of fried eggs, because the cooks were too busy chopping fruit for buffet.
The front desk staff way too slow as well. They do not have updated info on some local tourist activities, not very friendly.
A major administrative change has to be done at this hotel.
