Too large and cold A review of Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya St Petersburg
We stayed at this hotel as part of a package tour to Russia earlier this year, therefore we had no choice as to where we stayed. Having been very pleasantly surprised in Moscow, we were hoping for the same in St Petersburg - alias, this was not to be. For a tour of only 2 people (all pre-paid and booked in Australia), we had mix-ups left, right and centre. Not major ones admittingly, but enough to throw you in a foreign country. For a major hotel on many a package brochure, it all seemed very disorganised and with the acception of a few, the staff very unconcerned. The hotel itself is massive and a rabbit warren of rooms. The meals served were OK but nothing exceptional. There was a lot of construction happining at the hotel during our stay and this happened 24/7. One of the things that the hotel does have going for it is the free-shuttle bus into the centre of St Petersburg. We used this a few times and had no problems at all. You are dropped off and picked up at the Kazan Cathedral which is in walking distance to most of the major sites in the city. St Petersburg I might add - is beautiful. In all, not the worst hotel I have ever stayed at but definately not the best.
