This "resort" stinks! A review of St. Augustine Beachfront Resort
This is NOT a resort. It is a dumpy motel. There was no hot water in the sink. No wash cloths for 2 days. The toilet would flush only if you held the handle down the whole time. The coffee pot was plugged into the back of the TV stand and could not be unplugged. You also had no room to pour water into it because it was under a shelf. The microwave had 2 watts of power and a hot spot that would burn a hole in a bag of popcorn before it popped one kernal of corn The key card to the room worked about 1 in 30 tries. When someone would come to let us in our room they would use their own key card, which, of course always worked the first time. Ours never did work, but they wouldn't give us a new one, just said "keep trying". The lamp had a short in it and would spark if you plugged it in. The hallways were filthy. The slide at the pool worked only at the whim of the manager who would turn it on for about 1 hour each day. The sheets were threadbare, and the beds were lumpy. We were supposed to have an ocean view room, which did not happen. We had a view of a large yucca plant. The sign in the lobby which said continental breakfast for overnight guests meant you could have one menu item for free. The management made the choice of your one item. This places was advertised with hotels.com as having three stars. The person who rated it must have been blind. We switched from a very good Hampton Inn one block away because it was advertised as a one star. Turns out the Hampton Inn had rooms with balconies, was on the beach, and had nice rooms with a nice breakfast. Go there.
