This Is The Place To Stay A review of Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Los Angeles

Stayed two nights while in town on business. Wanted to stay near the airport but wanted to be close to beach too. The motel is just as it is described by others on Trip Advisor -- priced right, charming courtyard, clean, large size rooms, very pleasant staff, and good breakfast. They have wine and cheese in the evenings too! They also have a guest washer/dryer on the lobby floor. Decent shopping and restaurants just steps away from hotel (across street). The steak restaurant beside the hotel (on the same side of the street, going up the hill) is of excellent quality and a great choice if you're in a hurry (I can't remember the name). There is a metro stop just a few feet from the hotel and metro maps can be retrived from the motels guest computer and printer. Use the Transtar website if you want to use the metro and would like step by step directions. It's one of the best metro websites I've seen yet. If you bring your own laptop, the motel subscribes to PrintMe, a service that gives you the ability to print emails, attachments, or other internet documents using a code/password system. By the way, this place is one and one half mile walk (safe) to the beach where there are miles of pedestrian trails and bikes to rent too. You pass juice and coffee shops along the way, including a Starbucks.

The only thing they're missing, which is why they don't get a rating of Excellent, is shuttle service to/from airport and complimentary shuttle to the beach. Seems like they could partner with the motel that does has shuttle service (Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn).
