Things have Improved here - Quite Nice A review of Svendsgaard's Lodge - Americas Best Value Inn

Yikes I just read reviews of previous customers at the Holiday Inn Express and am astounded - our experience was quite satisfactory and this was during high season (August). The room was nicely refurbished, large and clean - large balcony looking out into trees was quiet and relaxing. There was a morning breakfast, which we passed up simply because we HAD to try the pancakes down the street at Paula's Pancakes. It is well located for easy walking to all the restaurants and shops. The pool looked to be well-used by children and parents, if a bit small. Covered parking under the hotel was nice, but the elevator still requires the use of some stairs (what's the point?). Not a problem for us but older or handicapped would struggle. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall a good experience, although not a bargain at close to $200 a night for 2.
