They quoted me one price, then did not honor it. A review of Crowne Plaza St. Louis - Clayton Hotel
I called the hotel, and told them I was interested in making reservations for a family reunion. I was invited to come to the hotel for a tour, and l did so with my wife. The tour was given by the Director of Sales. Everthing looked good, and he said he would call my the next day to finalize. He did not, nor did he call the next day. I reached him late that afternoon, and he was very apologetic, and said that everything looked good, but the price was going to be $149/night, not the $109 we had discussed, and was the publicly advertised price. I asked him what reason he had for the change, and he said the hotel was going to be full anyway that weekend. I feel this is unethical and illegal.
It is a variation of "Bait and Switch" business practices which have been outlawed for a long time. I called another hotel in Clayton where they did honor their word, and booked 10 rooms at the same price originally quoted.
