They have board games... A review of Glen Oaks Big Sur
Great little motel in the middle of paradise.
Pros: OK, it is a beautiful place! Great help from Chris at the front desk. He has lived there for 30 years and is full of knowledge about the area (he can also help you figure out how to get the most of your money in this pricey town). There are board games at the office that are available which came in handy considering it rained the whole time we were there.
Cons: Sometimes the water in the shower goes cold (maybe it shares a water heater with the place next door??) Have to write a check to hold the reservation. They don't take credit cards and there is only one ATM machine in town that was conveniently out of order when we were there.
Other: The hotel is right across from a good little restaurant (Big Sur Roadhouse I think?) that has great service. When we were there PCH going south out of Big Sur was rained out and there was a land slide. It forced us to go up to Monterey on the 1, cut across on the 68 E to the 101 S.
