Theft of personal items A review of Lodge of Four Seasons
My teenaged daughter went to the Lodge mid-October for a school conference. Her last meeting ran late, so her friends were supposed to pack the personal items she left in the bathroom, but they forgot. When my daughter went back to her room to make sure they packed those items, the maid ( a foreign woman whose name she didn't note)refused to let her in the room. My daughter said there may be some of her belongings still in the room, but the maid told her everything was gone. On the trip home, she discovered that her friends forget to take her shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, and shower pouf. They were behind schedule so the teacher wouldn't go back. I called the Lodge as soon as my daughter returned home. The first 2 employees I spoke with told me the room had been cleaned and was empty. Then a housekeeping manager told me it wasn't cleaned yet and he'd have the room checked the next day. After many phone calls, I was told the items weren't found and what would I like them to do to make it better. I told the manager that the items totaled some $20 and for a single mom of 4, that's a lot to us. I believed the maid stole those items from my daughter and wanted to be reimbursed. He said that shouldn't be a problem, but if it was he'd call back. He never did call and we didn't get a check. After a week, I called him and he stated that he left a message for me that they would not be reimbursing us. For a hotel of this caliber, this is very disappointing. If the staff cannot be trusted for simple items, what about the more expensive ones? We will not be staying there again and will make this recommendation to the national organization which sponsored the conference.
