The worst Ritz in California A review of Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey
My wife and I spent 4 nights here in Sept. Unfortunately, it was during the poolside filming fo a Bernie Mac show episode. The pool and spa were closed completely during our stay.
The rooms are small, with old decor, much needing renovation. The layout of the rooms were at best very awkward. The bedding and linen were of poor quality. We had to move room-to-room initially to find a room that did not reek of smoke or have a moldy/musty smell.
The business center was not available evenings. This was despite the fact that we were told we could be let into the business center upon request. Well, we made the requests, but no one ever came to let us in!
We could never get into the hotel spa for any appointments.
There is a severe shortage of service staff. This is unlike the typical Ritz Carlton where the staff are usually everywhere.
When we checked out with the front desk staff, we voiced our disappointments (having numerous Ritz stays at other sites for comparison). The staff was disinterested. We received the response: "If you wanted to use the pool and spa, we could have shuttled you down the street to the Marriott!"
'Never again. Save your time and money. Skip this one.
