The Veranda Hotel - Grand Casino A review of Harrah's Tunica - Veranda and Terrace Hotels
We went to Tunica partly as an inexpensive alternative to Memphis hotels and partly to visit the casino. The Positives: Our room at the Veranda was largeish, and clean, and did not smell like smoke or mildew (which I've found that most hotels do). The staff was pleasant enough (I'd heard that others found them rude, we did not). The Shuttle is extremely convenient, runs regularly and takes under 2 minutes to get you from your hotel to the casino. The price was astounding. Our first night (a saturday) was 89 dollars, and our second two nights (sunday/monday) were 29 dollars a night! The Negatives: The food at the casino is spectacularly medicore. There was no internet access (as was advertised on the website), you could use dial-up but were surchaged for long distance calls, even if you called your isp's 800 number. The shower water had a weird odor.I'd rate my experienced as mostly positive but mixed.
