The rooms and staff were nice A review of Marriott Beach Resort and Marina Hutchinson Island
We stayed at this resort to visit family in the area. I chose it for it's proximity to the beach, however, this beach was not suitable for anyone. I am not blaming Marriot for this, but although the beach was pretty, there were sand fleas or bugs that were terrible and the undertow was so strong we couldn't let our children, ages 2 and 5, in the water. If you could brave the horrible bug bites you could look for sea shells. We spent the day in the pool and I only noticed a couple of obviously non-hotel guests. My problem with the pool area was the tile around the pool itself. It was extremely slippery when wet and so hot you couldn't go barefoot.
We stayed in the Sandpiper building and the room was very nice with a small covered balcony and I could see the ocean from the room. Check in was easy and our request for a crib was met quickly. It was quiet at night and the beds were very comfortable.
