The Perfect Kauai Retreat A review of Kauai Banyan Inn
My stay at the Kauai Banyan Inn was delightful. The rural setting was perfect. If you're seeking a bucolic setting in Hawaii, this is the place to stay.
My room was very comfortable, and the deck was a wonderful spot to begin and end each day. A well-appointed corner kitchen was included, and the bathroom was very spacious.
The inn is the perfect base for exploring all of Kauai, especially off-the-beaten-track West and South Kauai. Great snorkeling is nearby, as is the small town of Koloa, where you can stock up on groceries, send postcards, rent snorkel gear, treat yourself to a restaurant, etc.
If you're not in the mood for exploring, you can enjoy your stay among the wonderfully landscaped grounds of the inn
For those arriving from the Mainland, the inn is a pleasant 20 minute drive from the Lihue airport, yet worlds away from urban sprawl.
Lorna and John are the perfect hosts, and they rescued my Kauai vacation. During a desperate telephone search to escape the concrete jungle of Kapa'a, I was referred to the inn and reached Lorna, who told me a room had just become available and she'd have a loaf of macadamia nut bread waiting for me. What a welcome!
Site unseen, I was at the inn in an hour and realized my ideal Kauai vacation had just begun.
I've attached a few casual photos of the inn. It never crossed my mind to take an indoor photo of my room. Cozy, comfy, clean, large, and delightful--that'll have to suffice in describing the room.
Thanks for the wonderful stay, Lorna and John.
