The owner is not friendly A review of The Voyager Inn
The Voyager is a nice, clean hotel. It is well located in downtown Anchorage. However, do not expect Mr. Stan Williams the owner/manager to be friendly or helpful. For example:
My daughters entered the lobby walking fast and Mr. Williams immediately remarked with a loud voice: "No running in the hotel, please" followed by a forced smile. It is not a welcoming commentary, especially when my children were not disruptive, noisy or inconsiderate. And by the way, there were no other guests or people in the lobby.
The following day, my wife asked for directions to a restaurant. When she could not understand the name of the restaurant, she asked Mr. Williams to write the name on a piece of paper. Mr. Williams answered "You write it" and he repeated his false smile.
The last day of our stay, we asked Mr. Williams if it was possible to leave the room two hours past the checkout time. He immediately responded "No" without even checking the arrival time of the next guests. We knew that the room would not be needed until 8PM. This blunt refusal of a common hotel courtesy made our last day in Anchorage much more difficult.
If you are lucky enough not to need Mr. Williams, then you will be OK in this hotel.
