The Inn's The Place To Stay A review of Inn at Montchanin Village
My wife and I have stayed at the Inn twice. Both times it was a fantastic, relaxing experience. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The staff is super friendly and efficient. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. Their restaurant, Krazy Kat's, is a wonderful place to eat.
Need I say more? The second time we stayed there we had a suite (bedroom, sitting room with kitchenette and a sumptuous bathroom) with a small back porch ( It was the "Tatnall" suite. which, like the other units in the Inn, is named after one of the families that lived there back when the village that is now the Inn was where the families of workers at the DuPont powder mills lived.) After a day of enjoying the many attractions, and lovely back roads and scenery, of the Brandywine Valley, my wife and I relaxed and unwound sitting in the comfortable wicker chairs on the porch with a cocktail and admiring the small garden behind our unit. After that pleasant interlude, we walked the short distance to the building that formerly housed the village's blacksmith shop and now houses the Krazy Kat's restaurant, where we enjoyed an excellent meal. After dinner, we strolled up to the large barn where, in addition to the reception desk, there is a cavernous sitting room in which we enjoyed an after-dinner cordial from the honor bar that is set out there every evening. As you might imagine, We plan to go back. Not cheap, but worth the price!
