The Big Rip-Off! A review of Microtel Pigeon Forge Emert St
This place is a zero. We made reservations for 2 nights Friday, August 4th and Saturday, August 5th by phone because we were told by doing so we would be guaranteed a nonsmoking room, that didn't happen so of course we weren't happy we ask the (manager?) why we were given the smoking room and were told that they didn't guarantee nonsmoking they only take request for them. The point being if one was available why not give it to us to start with? Who were they saving it for? We did get the room but, I'm not sure which one smelled the worst the stale cigarette smoke or the urine smell. We left the window open for about 4 hours and it still smelled bad. We had 4 people in our room and only 3 towels. The bed was so hard it felt like laying on a rock. The comforter on the other bed was dirty and looked as if it was molded and had holes in it. The window sill was nasty to say nothing about the cushion in the window seat - we covered it with a beach towel before sitting down. The shower was to do at your on risk there should have been a caution sign warning of scalding then freezing conditions. The continental breakfast was a pot of coffee running over in the floor, I guess that's where the cockroach was going. The pool looked like an oversized fish pond. Although we had an awful experience our friends were treated so much worse (watch for her review) that we checked out by choice Saturday night with them (not by choice). and went to the LaQuinta Inn and what a breath of FRESH air that was. The employees at the front desk at Americas Best Value Inn on Emert Street are by far the most rudist and unfriendliest people that I have ever had to deal with. What's really sad is that they can demand that you leave without a refund with or without justification and I personally believe that they take advantage of that right for various reasons. In this place there was no customer satisfaction, no towels and no personality. I would not recommend anyone to stay here I know we never will again. There are too many places to stay in Pigeon Forge where you are treated and made welcome as a guest and with common courtesy unfortunately this is not one of them.
