The best you'll find hands down A review of Rock House
We are an early thirties couple living in South Beach, Miami Beach, and we travel all over. Harbour Isaland was a jewel recommended by trusted friends who had frequented there. We listened to reviews of many of the hotels from friends , and studied online resources carefully. We jsut got back today after selecting the Rock House and staying four days. Quite simply, a beautifully restored historic home that is impeccably done with style and attention to detail, and it offers far better service and friendly, proactive staff that make a difference on a small island. We spent time while there checking out what we passed on (Pink Sands, Coral Sands, etc) and we were happy we did pass... Pink Sands is a wannabe snobatorium that is overpriced, inattentive and unconcerned with their reputation... we understand management has changed several times and none of them get it right. Coral sands has just been redone, and they seem to be a bit disorganized, but they have a nice facility, with need for gardening, and better service. One thing was strage, their common areas are silent and boring... nobody speaks, dead.
We found Rock House rooms to be gorgeous, each uniquely decorated, and their food and common areas like sharing a family home with a group of fun people. We met fellow tourists from Oregon and the UK, and they even had a model shoot for Lands End taking place there... seems clear they picked the best place. The pool area is first rate, with beutiful little casita type pool houses, awesome martini's at the bar, and a delicious restaurant. We plan on returning, and I wouldnt stay anywhere else.
Also check out the Landings for dinner, a block north. Delicious!
