The best for economical JFK airport hotel! A review of Days Inn JFK Airport
If you find you need to stay at an airport near JFK, but don't want to pay NY prices, THIS is the place! I got it through the Days Inn (or TripRewards) website for only $76/night! Regular walk-in rate much higher.
Brand new hotel, CLEAN, and great new furnishings -- even marble tiled bathroom. Warning: SMALL rooms. But for me, that's not a negative.
I was impressed for a Days Inn -- it's kind of a like a boutique hotel. Plus they have free breakfast.
They're actually in the same block as a Best Western, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn -- all owned by the same owner -- and all are very well maintained. I'll bet staying in any of them would be just fine. However, the Days Inn is the newest and least expensive (shuttle driver said that, for example, Holiday Inn Express rooms are a tad larger, if that matters).
Unlike the Days Inn website says, they do NOT have internet access. They're working on it. But their sister hotels, the HI Express and Best Western, do, and they are just steps away, literally --- and it feels safe in this area, too.
By the way: for you budget conscious folks, if you, too, like me, came up with the Super 8 in Jamaica as being the other lowest-priced JFK hotel, the shuttle driver told me NO, it's a good thing I didn't stay there, not a good lot of people go there, also they have no shuttle service (they're "working on it"). Without a doubt, I'd come to Days Inn first.
Also, a GREAT Chinese delivery restaurant -- China Express -- deliver until 2am. Their lo mein is fanastic.
One last thing: you do have to take the Air Train through the airport to get to Terminal C, Federal Circle, in order to catch the hotel shuttle. Adds a little time, but worth it in the end.
