The beach is the only good thing A review of Vistas on the Gulf
Stayed at the Vistas for 4 days in early Nov. Nothing was right from the start. When trying to check in, Our reservation(which I booked with hotels.com) did not exist. Thank goodness I had printed the receipt. The person at the desk sent us down the beach about 10 miles to a office (TRS) who had processed our reservation incorrectly. They were down right mean to me. Finally our room was "found" so back to the Vistas. The unit had just been cleaned, as I saw the maid leaving, but it was not up to par. The carpet in the bedroom was so ground in with dirt it made your feet black. I found caked on gunk in all of the 2 pans they had left me to cook with! When it was time to go to bed, there were no sheets for the sofa bed. The sheets that were there were thread bare.
If I had not prepaid the reservation and knew how hard it would be to get a refund we would have walked out after the first night. My husband was so mad because I had to send him 30 minutes away at 9 at nite to buy sheets so our son could go to bed. There is not an office on site after hours. We called the number but it took a long time (over an hour) til someone got back to us. The size of the unit is small as well.
Any way, We had a great view of the beautiful beach, and had great weather so we were outside alot. If I had to stay in the unit I wouldn't have enjoyed my vaca at all.
ps. I f you have friends or more than 1 car, tell them good luck with parking their car....1 per unit.
I love St. pete, but will not stay at the Vistas again. During the same vacation we stayed at 2 other timeshares 1 in orlando and 1 in the naples area that were so wonderful, and even less expensive, so I know that it can be done right!
