Terrible!!! A review of Hilton Newark Airport
All I can say is DO NOT STAY HERE!! Thumbs down Hilton. I expected much better! Initially while planning my trip, I did as much research as possible. A huge part of the enjoyment of any trip for me is the condition/aesthetics of the hotel room.The web sites pictured a beautifully updated room, but what I got was a room that looked like it had not been renovated since 1970. The carpet was dirty, the curtains were stained, the fabric headboard was dirty, even the wallpaper was dirty. There was a ring in the tub from the previous occupant and a half used bottle of hotel issued shampoo in the bathroom. I immediately rushed downstairs to inquire about a room change. The hotel staff refused. I asked about the rooms featured on the website, and why my room was not in the pristine condition of the ones featured. I was informed that only "certain" rooms had been renovated and none of the ones renovated were deluxe/standard, even though the website specifically states that "ALL rooms have been renovated"!!!! Also, I was unable to change rooms because they insisited that the hotel was at full occupancy due to some convention, even though the convention was not scheduled to begin until the next morning. I WAS SEVERELY DISSAPOINTED AND WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER HILTON AGAIN DUE TO THIS EXPERIENCE. From now on, its only the Sheraton or the Westin for me.
