Terrible service A review of Hotel Phoenicia

We visited the Le Meridien Malta in December, for one day, just to have some lunch. However, in the first five minutes of being there, we were put off of ever staying there. The atmosphere in there was very cold and aloof. The staff in reception didn't even acknowledge us and there were no smiles or assistance. We went into the palm court lobby lounge, where we understood that there was food and drinks available. There were other people sitting around and snack menus on the table and we saw a waitress for about five seconds, who didn't come to approach us and there was no sign of any food. We sat for a further five minutes, however then realised that we'd be able to get some food anywhere else. Unless you enjoy being in a very cold and haughty environment, you'd be best staying at the Hilton or Westin, like we did. This experience, has put us off ever staying in a Le Meridien hotel, especially after we stayed at one before and had the same experience.
