Superb!!!!!Beautiful!!!! A review of Mohegan Sun
My husband and I just got back from a one night, stay at the Mohegan Sun, and this place is awesome. I did not want to leave! I was expecting it to be nice, but it is amazing!! All areas of the hotel and casino are top notch. True attention to detail everywhere you look (and I mean everywhere, even the food court!!) Very clean, very new. Although there were many people checking in as we were late Fri. afternoon, valet parking was very convenient & quick, check in very quick.. Lobby is georgous with a center water fountain that looks more like a gentle pond - it flows into a rocky waterfall down to the casino area. Room - we stayed in a "regular room" King size bed. The bed was triple sheeted! The room decor was art deco/modern. The bathroom had beautiful black & jewel colored mosaic tile in a pattern on the floor and around the mirror. Built in blow dryer, and also a make-up mirror that I found very handy. Very clean - and I did inspect the tub, sink & toilet! My husband even remarked how comfortable the bed was, and it had lots of pillows, which I love. Of couse TV w/movies on demand. Mini bar, which we did not touch!-- a bit pricey. Ask for a room overlooking the river, we had a view of a roof. Another nice thing is the pool and spa are all on the 3rd floor, so you do not have to traipse through a lobby or casino in your bathing suit. I did not use the spa on this trip, but you walk by it going to the pool and it looked lovely. The pool is very nice, lots of windows overlooking a terrace that has lots of pretty landscaping. I spent more time in the large jaccuzzi though, as the pool was a bit cool for me. A nice bar is right at the pool area, you can also get snacks, sandwiches etc there. And also watch a large screen TV (we watched the Masters!) The two casino areas are also incredible, and the Mohegan Indian theme is carried out here as well, lots of neat lounges, one is actually in the huge boulder "rocks" and a faux night sky as well. REallythe other casino tables. Lots of entertainment, live acts in various bars in the main casino , and also in the shopping & restaurant areas. Many nice restaurants, from super pricey, too a BBQ joint! And Johnny Rockets, a 50's themed place. And all look great! We had dinner at Longboats (I'm not sure of the name) the food was superb! We did not have our kids with us, but there is an arcade and a supervised kids area where you pay about $7.00 an hour per child. They had a Barbie area, Lego area, that type thing. Wow, I wanted to put in a lot of details because we enjoyed it so much. Already planning a trip back in the Fall!!
