Stonewall Jackson Resort - a little piece of heaven A review of Stonewall Resort
We recently spent a week at the Stonewall Jackson Resort in northern West Virginia in our travel trailer at their campground. The camprgound is surrounded on three sides by a 2,000 plus acre lake with some of the best bass fishing in northern West Virginia. The entire resort, which features a golf course, spa and several fine restaurants, is breathtaking. The wildlife, deer in particular, visit all areas of the resort and are very tolerant of people. Does and little ones, still with their spots, were as numerous as the people all over the park. Hiking, mountain biking, boating and fishing took up all of our time. The facilities are extremely clean and well maintained all over the resort. The marnia features pontoon boat, canoe, kayak and fishing boat rentals. They also rent houseboats so that you never have to leave the lake. This was our first visit and one that we will certainly do again. We were less than two hours from home and it seemed like a world away. The people we encounted during this trip, folks from the resort, our neighbors in the campground, folks working at local businesses, were all extremely friendly. It is located just off of Interstate 79 at exit 91.
