Still working out the kinks A review of Four Seasons Hotel Miami
My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Miami for three nights through March 28th. The pluses: food is excellent - both at Aqua (the formal restaurant) and Bahia (the outdoor tapas bar). Wine list at Aqua was very extensive and fairly priced - good crowd (many locals) with excellent service. The outdoor pool area is great - plenty of chairs and private cabanas, two pools, not overly-crowded. Great service from attendants. We had a room that faced east over the Biscayne Bay, Rickenbacker Causeway, Fisher Island in the distance - great view. The decor in the room was crisp and soothing, and the room was very quiet.
The minuses: the hotel only opened in October 2003 and is still not firing on all cylinders. Our bags took more than an hour to reach our room (although we received a nice apology and a bottle of wine for our trouble), the concierges are not completely familiar with the local restaurants and are a little fuzzy on directions, and one day our room was not made up until 3:30 after we put in a call. Also, for those people familiar with the Sports Club LAs in New York, Boston and Washington, the one in this hotel will seem very small. Overall we had a great stay, and I am sure the service will improve with time.
