Just spent three nights over July 4 at the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach. Unlike most Cocoa Beach hotels, this one is right on the beach! We had an oceanfront room, king side bed, two easy chairs, a table, a refrigerator, microwave, and a balcony with a great view of pool area (beautiful) and ocean. The hotel is in a quiet, good area with timeshares and condos around it. The beach is wonderful here with mostly families, babies. A great place to go for a few days on the beach. The pool is small but beautifully landscaped with more than enough chairs to accommodate everyone. There are also umbrellas adjacent to many of the chairs which is nice in midday sun. There is a grocery right across the street, and numerous restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. The bathroom is small, only one sink in ours, but the room is large and there is no extra charge for the frig or microwave. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, even when we checked in at 3:00 a. m. after driving in from the Pepsi 400 in Daytona! There is a small sundries shop, a restaurant, and conference facilities. Don't eat in the hotel's restaurant if you have time to drive a short distance...there are wonderful local restaurants that made the hotel food seem pretty bad in comparison. The only minus for us was the small bathroom. All in all, the Doubletree is not "plush" but it's very, very nice, quiet, right on the beach, and for us on a holiday weekend, $184 night for oceanfront was a good deal for this hotel. Beware: the Hilton on down the beach does NOT have balconies, so you can't sit outside your room and enjoy the sounds and smells of the ocean like you can at this Doubletree. If you like the sound of crashing waves and breathing in salty smells, stay here, not the Hilton!
