Stay Away A review of Millennium Bostonian Hotel
This hotel was bad in so many ways. With taxes included, we paid $200/night for this hotel and I am getting ready to write a letter to hotel management to let them know how disappointed we were. First of all, the hotel reeks of cigarettes and cigars (with stained curtains to prove it). The city recently banned smoking in bars and restaurants but apparently the hotel hasn't received the memo yet since there is a cloud of smoke coming from their bar every night. The single pane windows don't mask the noise coming from the outside every night. Please remember that this hotel is in front of party central and you will not get any sleep during your stay. With a four year old in tow, we weren't exactly able to join in on the partying and the honking, screaming and sirens were just plain annoying. I had an upgrade coupon for a room. The front desk attendant who had a scowl on her face during the whole check in process upgraded me from a grand to a superior. I asked what the difference was and she mentioned that the superior had a view of Faneuil Hall. Cool - ok. We check in and I had to call down to double check if she had checked us into the wrong room. You could maybe see Faneuil Hall if you stuck your head out of the window and strained it in an awkward position. Other than that, I mostly saw the alleyway. Speaking of unpleasant hotel personnel, everytime we walked by the concierge desk and he happened to be there (they did not have regular hours), I overheard him complaining about how much work he had and how tired he was. The fitness center was just a hotel room that just happend to have ancient exercise equipment in it. The treadmills and gym equipment must have been from the 1970's and looked unsafe to even touch.I can keep going on but I'll stop now. This hotel is MAYBE worth $75/night, definitely NOT the $200 that we paid.
