Stay at the Belvedere and save the hassle A review of Hotel Belvedere
I stayed at the Belvedere from Christmas day 2000 to Jan 15, 2001. I specifically stayed on the second floor which is a card-key controlled floor for 'executives'. The rooms were enormous, the bathroom was Huge, completely done in white marble, fluffy duvets (typical european down comforters), emaculately clean in every way. Their prices for dry cleaning however were outrageous; something like $10 USD for a shirt, $20 USD for slacks and so on.I've stayed here before and find it a great value. All of the downtown hotels are way over priced, the intercontinental is too far away from town, and the smaller hotels that are a good value are impossible to find a vacancy because of all of the expatriate retirees living in them. When you get off the plane just tell the cab driver 'Belvedere, prosim" pronounced 'proseem' it should cost about $20 to get you there from the airport. You're being screwed at that price, but since you don't speak czech, live with it.
