Standard, edge of town Novotel A review of Dorint Hotel Don Giovanni Praha
Whilst I agree with all of the comments of the previous reviewer (London, Jan 11), I find his 1-star rating a little harsh. You could find much, much worse than this place.
This is a reasonably good edge-of-town Novotel that I stayed in for 2 weeks in November 2004 for a business trip. The staff are a little cool, but generally helpful and English-speaking, the food is of a reasonable standard, and the bar is quite nice - as others have pointed out. One strong point is that the rooms are a little bigger than what I have come to expect from this type of hotel in other European cities.
The location is of very little interest and quite far out of town, but the Metro and tramway are efficient.
A word of advice - cab drivers still know this by its old name, the "Don Giovanni", so if you tell them "Novotel" they'll take you to the other Novotel downtown.
