Spotless and excellent value! A review of The Salem Waterfront Hotel & Marina
My Wife and I saw a brochure for Salem in a tourist office in boston and headed to Salem to spend a day there during our holiday. It is bang in the centre of the town at the waterfront. We booked in and got a corner room on the forth floor... it was so nice that i booked us in for a second night! (Try to get a corner room as the room is bigger then the normal rooms!) The building work on the top floor for the condos as refered to in an earlier review has now finished and they are selling them now for half a mill each! They are worth it though! The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms are fantastic and very clean. Very quiet at night and very relaxing.
This is probably one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed in.
We enjoyed a nice meal in the bar downstairs on the first night which had a fantastic jazz singer entertaining us, but the waitress we had who was scat-brained, came to us four times to check what we ordered and then served a couple that had come in ten minues after us first! but that is no flaw on the hotel.
I believe that the breakfast could of been of a better quality, but that is my only complaint.
(FYI: Our rate for a thurs and fri night in August was $169 + tax)
