Spartan Convenience A review of Courtyard By Marriott Nashville Downtown

Travelled to Nashville on business and, as usual, chose a Marriott

property close to my business destination. This started out to be one

of the worst Marriott experiences ever. Requested Non-smoking...none

available. Was given a wheelchair access room behind the elevators (did

not request this). The room was one of the most basic, drab rooms I

have seen in quite awhile. The beds were very soft (old?), the sofa was

very well worn, the carpet was loose, bathroom dark... Definitely not

what I would expect from a Courtyard. More like a La Quinta, Best

Western, etc.

The next day I asked to move to a non-smoking room. Was upgraded to a higher floor and a "much better" room (in the words of the manager). The views from the room are great, the room is large but it is still very basic.

Bottom line, this is a comfortable hotel, pretty good staff, excellent

location that is close to everything in downtown, especially

restaurants, bars and Nashville attractions But don't expect any

upscale accomodations in the rooms.
